Enrichment at The Legacy Community School
The Legacy Community School offers a robust enrichment program that provides students with interdisciplinary and project-based enrichment opportunities. Our enrichment classes are hosted in the afternoon and also include our full-time students. We are excited to welcome homeschooling students to join our community in the afternoons as students explore their interests and passions while also honing their skills. Enrichment courses run on a nine-week schedule (a quarter) and TLCS offers different options each quarter. TLCS offers one-day and two-day courses that meet each week with the same group of students so that students may also develop their social and emotional skills in collaborating with others. Course offerings will be published in advance so that families can register their students.
Enrichment Course Offerings
At The Legacy Community School, we pride ourselves on offering a robust variety of enrichment opportunities for our students. While our course offerings vary from quarter to quarter, we have several signature courses that are offered multiple times a year. Prior to each quarter, enrichment course offerings will be posted for students and their families to review before registering.
Adulting 101

Some of the skills that may be covered in this course include, but are not limited to, finding insurance, registering to vote, grocery shopping, making minor repairs, maintaining a vehicle, managing time, talking on the phone, and more.
Creative Writing
Students are given the opportunity to channel their creativity into a wide range of creative writing experiences. With a workshop model at the center of this course, students develop their interpersonal skills while honing their craft across various genres and publishing their work.
Career Explorations
Students participate in various self-reflection activities to assess their strengths and aptitudes, then determine how those strengths and aptitudes coincide with their passions and interests. They explore a wide range of careers through hands-on experiences, guest speakers, simulations, and field trips.
